    Asian Kho Kho Championship: Indian women's team dons Assamese traditional 'Mekhela Chador' at inaugural ceremony
    It may be mentioned that the Indian wrestler Babita Bhogat will also attend the championship to support the participants.

    Digital Desk: Indian women's Kho Kho team has been seen donning Assam’s traditional Mekhela Chador at the inaugural ceremony of the Asian Kho Kho championship which begins today in the Baksa district of the state. 



    The 4th Asian Kho Kho Championship for Men and Women will begin today in the Baksa's  Tamulpur. The event will conclude on the 23rd of this month. 

    The event is being organized by the Kho Kho Federation of India in association with the Assam Kho Kho Association and Bodoland Territorial Region government. The government of Assam also extended its support for the competition. 

    The United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) chief Pramod Boro is ptresent at the event. 

    Moreover, the Chief Managing Director of Prag News, Dr Sanjive Narain has also attended the inaugural ceremony of the Kho Kho Championship. 





    The event will feature up to 400 athletes from at least 14 nations.

    The countries are - India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, South Korea, United Arab Emirates, Azerbaijan, and Sri Lanka.



    It may be mentioned that the Indian wrestler Babita Bhogat will also attend the championship to support the participants.

    However, it is not yet known which day Phogat will attend the championship.
