Digital Desk: Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, received criticism fiercely by Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday for having appeared in a video talking to farmers in Sonipat's Madina village in Haryana.

Rahul Gandhi's newfound desire and "desperation" to get serious, according to CM Sarma, is "laughable".

Additionally, he asserted that "farmers" were "heckling" when the former president of Congress posed for pictures with them.

Assam CM posted on Twitter, saying, "The sudden desire of the Prince, and his desperation, to get real is laughable! But in your zeal to get captured by your photo & video team, for God's sake, do not demean the dignity of our Annadatas."

"The heckling of farmers to pose as a 'farmer' is deplorable Mr Gandhi. Get Real without the Reels," CM further added.

Rahul Gandhi was seen driving a tractor on Saturday, helping plant paddy, and eating meals that had been brought by female farmworkers.

The Gandhi family scion was seen driving a truck in May. From Delhi to Ambala, Rahul Gandhi was in the co-driver's seat.

Gandhi was on his way to Shimla to spend time with his mother. On the way, he encountered truck drivers at a dhaba in Sonipat, Haryana, and decided to hitch a ride to Ambala with them, during which he talked about their jobs and challenges.
