    Assam's Adityaraj Sarma wins 3 gold medals at World Powerlifting Competition

    Guwahati: Assam's Adityaraj Sarma on Saturday won three gold medals at the recently held World powerlifting competition by WPC ( world powerlifting Congress) at Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. 





    The 21-year-old player Adityaraj competed for the U90kg full raw junior powerlifting junior and secured first place. He also won the first position in the junior (20-23years) raw deadlift-only event.





    The triple medal counted as he won the first position in U90kg full raw powerlifting open age.

    Adityaraj is currently pursuing his MA in history from Delhi University. He passed out from Ramjas college, Delhi University, with first-class history honours during his graduation.





    He is the son of Tirtharaj Sarma and well-known singer Mrinmoyee Goswami. 





    The young player won the national gold in powerlifting held at Bangalore this year. After winning the gold medal in Bangalore, he represented India at the AWPC/WPC World Powerlifting Championship Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.





    The competition was held between 12th to 14th November 2021.





    Adityaraj is still in Bishkek and will be reaching Delhi tomorrow with team India.
