    Assam’s pride Lovlina Borgohain to return homeland on August 17

    Guwahati: Assam’s daughter Lovlina Borgohain will step into her homeland on August 17 following a special event on Independence Day in New Delhi.





    On August 12, the Assam Government will welcome the Olympic medalist with a rally and will be brought to Kalakshetra at 3 pm. She will be felicitated at a welcome ceremony by Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.





    Assam CM, along with Sports Minister Bimal Bora and other ministers, will attend the ceremony. CM Sarma will felicitate Borgohain with honorary rewards and will offer a dignified government post.





    As per the report, Lovlina’s father and other family members will be attending the ceremony at Kalakshetra on August 12.





    Moreover, the Assam Olympic Association (AOA) will welcome the pugilist at a special event on Wednesday. AOA plans to have dinner, “Bon-Bhuj,” with Borgohain in an open space followed by other felicitation events.





    The official statement said, “Lovlina Borgohain will not get chance to visit her homeland, Borpathar, during her return to Assam on August 12 as she will fly back to Delhi on August 13 to attend at the Independence Day event.”





    “Lovlina will be busy in other felicitation events for the next two days before she visits her homeland on August 17.” added.





    Moreover, the Assam Sports Department informed that all the necessary precautions were taken to secure all covid-19 protocols are maintained on the return of Lovlina Borgohain.
