Digital Desk: In a shocking incident, three minor school students, aged around 13-14 years, consumed poisoned 'chowmein,' resulting in the tragic death of one girl and the hospitalization of the remaining two in Baksa district of Assam.

As per reports, the incident unfolded on December 8, after the trio allegedly inscribed inappropriate content on their after-school tuition center's blackboard.

A fellow student disclosed their names the next day, prompting the teacher to summon them and purportedly reprimanded for their actions.

In response to the disciplinary action, the girls visited a local fast-food shop in Kalpani bazaar, where they intentionally laced their 'chowmein' with a poisonous substance before consuming it.

The toxic meal caused severe illness and were subsequently admitted to Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for urgent medical attention. Notably, one of the girls succumbed to the poisoning during treatment.

The school authorities expressed profound shock, stating that the girls hadn't endured any apparent mental distress or pressure leading to such an extreme act.

The identities of the minor girls have been safeguarded due to their age. Local police swiftly arrived at the scene, initiating an investigation into the tragic incident.

This shocking incident serves as a somber reminder of the complex challenges young individuals may face and emphasizes the importance of addressing mental health issues within the education system.
