Political party Assam Jatiya Parishad designated the day as "Day of Deception." The party, which was founded during the anti-CAA protests in Assam, also staged a two-hour sit-in in Guwahati.

Digital Desk: Several Anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) organisations from Assam paid tributes to the five protestors who lost their lives during the ant-CAA protest three years ago and resolved to resume the movement against the Act.

The five martyrs are Sam Stafford, Dipanjal Das, Ishwar Nayak, Abdul Aleem, and Dwijendra Panging.

To pay homage to the five martyrs, The ‘All Guwahati Students' Union has organized a clarion at Hatigaon High School.

AASU leaders will also attend the event.

Assam Jatiya Parishad, a political organisation, marked the day as "Day of Deception." The party, which was established amid the Assamese anti-CAA demonstrations, also held a two-hour sit-in in Guwahati. In 2020, five people lost their life as a result of anti-CAA demonstrations.

Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti leader during the protest and MLA from Sibsagar, Akhil Gogoi was jailed for 1 year and 7 months from December 12, 2019, to July 1, 2021.

He said, "I was arrested on this day in 2019 for taking part in the anti-CAA struggle. NIA investigations were imposed. I was ordered to be shot dead. None of this could destroy my commitment to the people of Assam. We opposed 'CAA', oppose'CAA', and will continue to oppose 'Ka'. I am also ready to give my life if 'CAA' comes into force."
