Digital Desk: The Bodoland People's Front (BPF) declared their candidates for the No. 1 Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency (Kampa Borgoyary) and the Darang Udalguri Lok Sabha constituency (Durga Das Boro) at Bathou Kherai Resort Chirang on Saturday.
Through the CWC meeting at Bathou Kherai Resort Chirang, the BPF party announced its candidates.
It should be noted that the BPF is planning to run in five Lok Sabha seats in Assam. The party will soon announce its candidates for the remaining three Lok Sabha seats, which are Barpeta, Guwahati, and Tezpur, according to BPF President Hagrama Mohilary.
On the other hand, a prominent leader within the Bodoland People's Front (BPF) Joy Mushahary announced his resignation from the party citing irreconcilable differences with its party.
Mushahary formally resigned from his position as President of the Central Committee Youth BPF and gave up his primary membership in the party in a letter dated March 14, 2024.
In his resignation, Mushahary expressed his decision with profound respect and obedience, writing, "With profound respect and obedience, I do hereby tender my resignation from the post of President, Central Committee Youth BPF and also from the primary membership of BPF with immediate effect from the 14th of March, 2024." He added, "While my aim and purpose is to serve the people of the region from the very beginning, I believe I am unable to do this anymore within this party."
Mushahary expressed gratitude to his party colleagues for their assistance and the platform they gave him to work with the people of the region. His exit from the BPF is a major occurrence that raises concerns about the internal dynamics and future course of the party.
