Assam: BTC executive member, GSP leader Ghanashyam Das removed from his position

This suggests that there may be a division between Naba Kumar Sarania's Gana Suraksha Party (GSP) and the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL).

Digital Desk: The Governor of Assam has decided to remove Ghanashyam Das from his position as an Executive Member of the Council.

Das is an executive member of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) and a member of the Gana Suraksha Party (GSP).

The choice is effective right now.

This suggests that there may be a division between Naba Kumar Sarania's Gana Suraksha Party (GSP) and the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL).

The split became clear when Ghanshyam Das, the only executive member representing the GSP and an executive member of BTC, was removed from his post.

Ghanshyam Das's ties with the BTC administration was essentially severed when the governor made this decision via formal order.

The order states, “The Governor of Assam is pleased to drop Shri Ghanashyam Das, an MCLA of Gana Suraksha Party (GSP) and presently serving as Executive Member BTC, as an Executive Member of the Council with immediate effect.”

What impact this revelation will have on BTC elections and other elections is still to be determined.
