    Assam Budget 2021-22: Announcement made by Finance Minister Ajanta Neog

    Guwahati: Assam Finance Minister Ajanta Neog today tabled the Assam Budget 2021-22,  the 107 paged budget consists of many key decisions which include-





    1. Tamulpur has been declared as the new district of Assam.
    2. Medical colleges to be set up in Tamulpur, Morigaon, Dhemaji, and Bongaigaon.
    3. Assam Cultural Project proposed in the State Budget today. The project is deemed to be functional in the national capital, Delhi.
    4. Neno incubation centre will be established at the industries of Silchar, Dibrugarh, Tezpur and Bongaigaon.
    5. A Brigde will be constructed which will connect Palashbari and Sualkuchi.
    6. Financial assistance given under Orunodoi scheme increase from 850 to 1,000.
    7. Polytechnic colleges to be set up in Hajo, Majuli and Tingkhong.
    8. Four major roadways to be completed by 2021-22: Kokrajhar to Rupsi Airport via Bashbari – 74 km, Rowta to Misamari – 50 km, Gohpur to Dholpur via Ghagrabasti – 28 km and NH 52 (Dirak gate) Bijulibon Pengeree – 38 km
    9. Steps for setting up POS devices in FPS Coverage of all NFSA beneficiaries under Aadhaar Allocation for ANNA Yojana.
    10. Annual grant-in-aid of Rs 5 lakh each for services rendered in supply chain management of food grains towards reaching ONORC goal.
    11.  1,000 model Aganwadi Centre’s (AC) to be set up, for this Rs 13.50 crore will be allocated to each AC.
    12.  From now the employees of APOL can opt for voluntary retirement.
    13.  Age of retirement for the fourth grade employees extended from 38 years to 40 years.
    14.  Assam Bhawan to be established in Puducherry.
    15.  Rs 4 crore allocated for The Assam Co-operative Jute Mills Ltd., Silghat.
    16. Engineering colleges to be established in Bongaigaon, Bihali and Sualkuchi.
    17. Azgarh Wildlife Sanctuary to be declared in Goalpara district.
    18. Geographical area of Orang National Park to be expanded.
    19. 10 police battalions to be set up at 10 locations in a phased manner.
    20. Multi-disciplinary sports complexes to be set up in different parts of state in a phased manner.
    21. New mechanisms to be adopted to ensure hills in Guwahati remain free from encroachments, including 24x7 drone monitoring to identify and preserve open spaces and hills in the city.
    22. New Wildlife Safari and Rescue Centres to be set up at Dibrugarh and Silchar.
    23. Budget allocation of Rs 8 crore (2021-22), Rs 22 crore (2022-23) and Rs 20 crore (2023-24) to each of six universities to be set up under Tejasvi Navadhitamastu Edu-Infra Funds (TNEIF). The Universities are University of Culture (Majuli), Rabindranath Tagore University (Hojai), Bhattadev University (Pathsala), Madhabdev University (Narayanpur), Birangana Sati Sadhini State University (Golaghat) and Aniruddhadev Sports University (Chabua)
    24. ₹ 400 crore allocated under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana to benefit around 30 lakh farmers in the state.
    25. Karbi Anglong's Diphu Government College upgraded to State University.
    26. Smartphones to almost 8 lakh Class IX & X students of Govt schools for online education.
    27. Integration of e-Panjeeyan with Arundhati Gold Scheme portal Scheme enhanced to ₹ 40,000 for each bride.
    28. Small traders and artisans affected by covid to be given one-time grant of ₹10,000 through an institutional mechanism in convergence with PM SVANidhi Scheme of Government of India.
    29. Fair Price Shop dealers’ margin hiked from ₹101.1 to ₹143 per quintal.
    30. Construction of 250 km of roads by ASRIP (with aid from Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank) as well as Construction of 313 km of roads by ARNIP (with aid from Asian Development Bank).
    31. Financial package to over 100-year-old educational institutions also, financial aid to Sainik school, Goalpara.
    32. Adequate budgetary provision for Tai Ahom Museum at Sivasagar.
