Today, at 8 am, the counting of votes for the 99 Majuli (ST) constituency began. Nitin Khade, the Chief Electoral Officer of Assam, met with the DEO of Majuli to examine the counting arrangements.
He ordered that the Commission’s directions be followed. He further stated that each counting hall must ensure that covid-19 requirements are followed.
The concerned DEO devised comprehensive plans for a seamless and secure count in Majuli LAC as per the order.
Reportedly, to ensure the smooth running of the counting process, foolproof security measures were put in place. Moreover, the counting centre was outfitted with three layers of protection. For counting, the Commission has also designated RO and AROs.
