Digital Desk: Dilip Kumar Hazarika, a well-known actor, film critic, and veteran politician from Assam, died on Thursday at around 8.31 p.m. It's been reported that he had been suffering from age-related problems for quite some time.
Dilip Kumar Hazarika, a native of Guwahati's Uzan Bazar locality, died at the age of 89. He is best recognised for his portrayal of Piyoli Barua in the film 'Maniram Dewan'.
The veteran actor turned politician is survived by two children as well as other relatives and well-wishers. From the 1950s through the 2010s, he was involved with the historic Kumar Bhaskar Natya Mandir in Guwahati's Uzan Bazar.
Following his death, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to X (Formerly Twitter) to express his respects. He stated, "The news of the passing away of prominent actor, writer and advocate Dilip Kumar Hazarika is saddened."
