Chief Minister Sarma stressed the value of a robust work culture over a protest culture...
Digital Desk: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attended a momentous occasion on Monday in the Dhakuakhana Legislative Constituency (LAC) in the Lakhimpur district of Assam. As part of Mission Basundhara 2.0, he participated in the distribution of land pattas to 11,483 eligible beneficiaries.
The government's dedication to ensuring that indigenous populations have a dignified existence is demonstrated by this effort, which aims to grant land rights to these tribes. CM Sarma emphasized the difficulties that non-tribal indigenous populations encounter as a result of the stringent laws in tribal belts, issues that Mission Basundhara 2.0 aims to resolve.
Additionally, out of 20,419 candidates from the Lakhimpur district, 1,253 were from Bihpuria LAC, 1,352 from Ranganadi LAC, 3,244 from Nawboicha LAC, and 3,087 from Lakhimpur LAC. The remaining applications came from Dhakuakhana LAC. The mission has provided significant advantages to the communities in the districts of Lakhimpur and Dhemaji, as highlighted by Chief Minister Sarma.
Looking ahead, the Chief Minister presented plans for Mission Basundhara 3.0, which will prioritize granting land pattas to institutions and private citizens alike, with flexible regulations to reduce the number of denials.
CM Sarma stated, "The current government in the state is doing everything in its capacity to see that promises that were made during election campaigns were being fulfilled without undue delay. The government was on its way to fulfilling the promise of recruiting 1-lakh youths into services of the Government of Assam.”
In presenting his plan to turn Assam into a high-achieving state, Chief Minister Sarma stressed the value of a robust work culture over a protest culture. He expressed faith that society would work together to accomplish these challenging objectives.
"To fulfill this aim, there is needed to embrace work culture while at the same time shedding 'Andolan culture' by the residents of the state," he said.
Notable dignitaries including Mising Autonomous Council Chairman Sunil Pegu, Member of Parliament Pradan Barua, and Member of Legislative Assembly Naba Kumar Doley attended the event, underscoring the significance of the occasion.
