Digital Desk: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday inaugurated development projects worth Rs 114 crores in the Jagiroad constituency.

Chief Minister Sarma was accompanied by Cabinet Minister and Jagiroad MLA Pijush Hazarika in the inauguration of the development projects at a large-scale rally conducted in Jagiroad town.

A permanent office building for the Jagiroad Development Authority worth Rs 1.95 crore, a 750-seat multipurpose auditorium worth Rs 7.20 crore, a waterfront development project worth Rs 9.56 crore, a PWD inspection building worth Rs 9.5 crore, and a rail foot over bridge worth Rs 85.96 crore are among the projects that were officially inaugurated.

Launching several projects simultaneously in one constituency is regarded as a major development drive in the Jagiroad constituency.

"Jagiroad now has a rail-over bridge worth Rs 85 crore. In addition, the shores of Taranga Beel Lake have been beautifully landscaped along with a cycle track. Construction of the PWD inspection facility cost Rs 9 crore. The Jagiroad Development Authority now has an enduring structure. Additionally, a stunning auditorium with 750 seats has been built. The Janasanyog department has also created a digital LED billboard,” CM Sarma stated while speaking about the new initiatives.

CM Sarma also mentioned in his speech that there would be good news shortly about a significant investment in the Jagiroad constituency.

"In a few days, I believe I will be giving the good news of the largest investment in Assam that will be brought to the Jagiroad constituency. I believe the development wave about to reach Jagiroad will change the face of the constituency and also the entire middle Assam," stated CM Sarma.

The chief minister of Assam also unveiled a Rs 50 crore plan to improve Jagiroad town's drainage system during his speech. He added that a new fire brigade centre will be built on Jagiroad. He further stated that they plan to inaugurate the Morigaon Medical College in the Jagiroad constituency within the next couple of years.
