Digital Desk: The issue in Dima Hasao and Barak Valley, where severe rainfall has caused flooding and landslides, disrupting normal life and prompting considerable worry among locals, is being actively monitored by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Chief Minister Sarma has directed authorities to provide all necessary support to people injured by the tragic bus accident in Ditokcherra, expressing condolences to the families affected. He emphasized how critical it is to quickly restore connectivity and make sure the impacted people get the best medical care available for their recovery.

Haflong Lake has overflowed as a result of the continuous rainfall which began on the night of May 1, making the flooding in several regions worse. Roadways are flooded, making it difficult to communicate and travel around the area.

The District Commissioner and the Dima Hasao District Disaster Management Authority acted quickly to address the situation, closing all schools on May 2 as an outcome of the bad weather. The seriousness of the situation is confirmed by reports of landslides from several places in Dima Hasao.
