Guwahati: A fake tweet bearing Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's name goes viral on social media platforms. This false account shared false Covid 19 reports among the public.
The fake tweet stated, "As per Covid-19 cases are increasing in Assam very fast. On October 31 it cross 300+ positive cases. So the education department and the government decided to close schools and colleges from November 20. #staysafe."
Assam chief minister Sarma took to his Twitter and shared a screenshot of the false account created under his name. Sarma wrote, "A FAKE tweet bearing my name is circulating saying that since cases of #COVID19 have gone up schools & colleges are being closed down from November 20. This is WRONG & should not be heeded to."
