According to a spokesperson for the Congress, Raijor Dal delegates attended the rally in the city and expressed their support for the programme.

Digital Desk: The 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' of the Assam Congress has arrived in Guwahati, with opposition party Raijor Dal also joining the long march.

According to party spokesperson Manjit Mahanta, the march included All India Congress Committee general secretary Jitendra Singh, state Congress presidents from Assam, Sikkim, and Manipur, former Arunachal Pradesh CM Nabam Tuki, and other leaders.

"On Thursday (Nov 17), more than 500 people joined the march," he said.

The Congress, Assam's main opposition party, began the 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' from Dhubri district on November 1 and planned to cover a distance of 834 km in 70 days.

In addition to the main 3,570-km Kanyakumari-to-Kashmir yatra, the Congress is organizing several sub-marches in states where the main yatra will not pass, according to PTI.

According to a spokesperson for the Congress, Raijor Dal delegates attended the rally in the city and expressed their support for the programme.

"The Raijor Dal is supporting our yatra to deter the BJP's expansionist plans," he explained.

The Congress spokesperson stated that, other state opposition parties and prominent citizens will join the rally on Friday, which passed through Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's Jalukbari constituency on Wednesday. The march will culminate at Sadiya in the easternmost part of the state, the spokesperson added.
