Digital Desk: The untimely and unexplained deaths of fish and swans at Kedar Mandir in Assam's Hajo have alarmed temple officials and residents.
As per the sources' reports, locals have voiced concern about the unusual and odd deaths of fish and swans in the Shiva Kund pond over the previous three days.
However, the unexpected and unusual deaths of fish and swans are thought to be the result of pond water pollution.
Regarding the incident, the locals said that the archaeological agency failed to take appropriate action in this matter.
"Due to water pollution in Shiva Kund pond, at least nine swans had died for the past 15-20 days, leaving us with only a handful in the temple, and now we are observing fish deaths," one resident stated.
This region is overseen by two departments: temple authorities and the archaeological department. Neither the temple administration nor the archaeological agency is taking appropriate steps to investigate this situation. The archaeological department works exclusively within 30-40 metres of the temple. They don't allow anyone from the outside to clean the pond," he stated.
However, an official from the archaeological department stated that they arrived at the site as soon as they received information about the abrupt deaths of the fish.
They also stated that they have notified the fishery department to determine whether they died as a result of pollution or lack of oxygen.
