Digital Desk: The Government of Assam will present the Anundoram Baruah Award to 27,183 students in a ceremony that will be held at Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati on November 29.
The ceremony to be held at Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati will be attended by Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma. On the same day, the award distribution ceremony will be held in other districts.
The award will be presented to deserving students in the presence of Ashok Singhal, the Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs and Irrigation on November 29, 2023, at 10.30 a.m. in the Dibrugarh District Library Auditorium.
Dr Banikanta Kakati Merit Award will be presented to meritorious students in the presence of the minister.
The Government of Assam provides the Anundoram Borooah Award to students of HSLC who secure a minimum of 75% marks. This year, Rs15,001 will be deposited into each of the 27,183 state students' accounts via Direct Bank Transfer (DBT).
35,775 scooters will be distributed under the Dr. Banikanta Kakati Award to deserving state students who have passed their Class 12 exams.
Scooters will be awarded to 5,566 boys who scored 75 per cent or higher on the most recent Class 12 examination conducted by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) and 30,209 girls who scored 60 per cent or above.
