Assam Govt to provide financial help to veteran actor Jayanta Das
The health minister promised that the state government will extend all possible cooperation in the treatment of actor Jayanta Das.

Digital Desk: Days after veteran Assamese actor Jayanta Das was admitted to Apollo Hospital in critical condition in Guwahati, Assam Health minister Keshav Mahanta on Tuesday visited the hospital and took stock of his health.

The health minister promised that the state government will extend all possible cooperation in the treatment of actor Jayanta Das.

Earlier, on Monday Assam Cultural Minister Bimal Borah announced that the state government will provide all necessary assistance, including financial help, for his treatment.

According to Borah, the state government will take all required steps to ensure that Jayanta Das, who is well-known for the Assamese comedy Bharaghar, gets the medical care he needs.

After becoming unwell on Saturday night, Jayanta Das was brought to Apollo Hospital and is presently on life support.

According to a hospital staff who spoke with The Assam Tribune, Jayanta is being treated by specialised physicians from many departments due to his various diseases.

In the meanwhile, his family has posted on social media asking for blood donations. Blood is desperately needed; any blood will do. We'll trade it for it at the blood bank. However, it's critical and significant right now. His daughter said on Facebook, "Please come forward and donate if you can."
