Digital Desk: Two Indian Army officials have returned the missing soldier's belongings back to his family in the Dhemaji district of Assam. On October 8, the soldier, Gautam Rajbongshi, disappeared in Ladakh after an avalanche struck near Mount Kun during a routine training exercise.

Rajbongshi hails from Gogamukh in Dhemaji, along with three other jawans. The missing soldiers' bodies have not been located, despite efforts.

On Thursday, the officers paid Rajbongshi's family a visit to hand over his belongings, including his clothes and documents. The family was warned by the police that rescue activities would be delayed until April or May of next year due to the extreme snowfall that is now occurring in Ladakh.

Sunu, Rajbongshi's wife, had earlier written to Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, pleading for the initiation of search and rescue operations to locate her husband.
