    Digital Desk: Due to the election code of conduct in effect for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, a significant quantity of cash was seized from a vehicle in Karimganj on Wednesday. 

    A Bolero car with the registration number AS08A0614 was reportedly intercepted at the Naka point in Keotkuna, Karimganj. Following an extensive search, a total cash amount of Rs. 22,95,500 was recovered from the vehicle.

    Following the incident, an individual was detained in connection to the incident. 

    The Bongaigaon district is taking proactive measures to ensure compliance with election conduct laws ahead of the next Lok Sabha elections. The Flying Squad is keeping a close eye on several routes. Today, amidst routine checks, a major discovery was made in the district. 

    According to election conduct regulations, anyone carrying more than 50,000/-in cash without the appropriate, legitimate paperwork will not be allowed to continue. 

    To ensure compliance, this need has been extensively communicated to the general population. To maintain electoral integrity, the Flying Squad has started conducting routine checks. 

    A car with the license plate AS 26AC 0747 was intercepted by the Flying Squad earlier today during one of these inspections. Inside, a person identified as Ali was found in possession of a significant amount of cash—1,57,640—without the required documentation. As mandated by election laws, the cash has been seized and kept in the treasury.
