Digital Desk: More than 2000 taxi drivers registered for the ASTC's app-based taxi service, which aims to compete with aggregators like Uber and Ola.

The Assam government took a major step by introducing a mobile app for Guwahati's first-ever taxi service called "ASTC City Cab". The state government has taken the initiative to improve urban transport services by launching the first-ever city taxi service through a mobile app.

The mobile application was launched by the Minister of Transport, Excise, and Fisheries, Parimal Suklabaidya, in Guwahati. The Assam State Transport Corporation's (ASTC) project aims to make commuting easier for Guwahati residents and visitors.
