The police operation, which was started in response to intelligence received, resulted in the KLO operators being apprehended after officials from the Basugaon police station raided a hotel in the town's station road area.

Digital Desk: Three members of the Kamtapur Liberation Organization (KLO) were apprehended by police enforcement during a preemptive raid in Basugaon, Chirang, ahead of the third phase of elections. The three people who were arrested identified as Utpal Roy, also known as Pankaj Koch, from Gossaigaon, Dhananjay Barman from Noitamara 1st block, and Robin Barman, also known as Lankeshwar Koch or Lambu, from Hekaipara.

After the arrests, crucial information from the arrested KLO members helped officials find a bomb hidden in the early hours of the morning along the banks of the Champabati River in Kachudola, close to Basugaon town. This timely disclosure represented a narrow escape from sabotage and prevented a possible calamity in the Basugaon area.

The police operation, which was started in response to intelligence received, resulted in the KLO operators being apprehended after officials from the Basugaon police station raided a hotel in the town's station road area. After a full night's effort, law enforcement was able to successfully retrieve the concealed explosive device from the dunes of Kachudola village's Champabati River.

It is believed that the KLO members had gathered there with plans to engage in disruptive operations ahead of the next elections. The prompt and resolute action taken by the authorities highlights their commitment to guaranteeing public safety and impeding any threats to the democratic process.
