    Digital Desk: The Assam Saurav Award was conferred to four recipients on Tuesday which include prominent swimmer Elvis Ali Hazarika and sprinter Hima Das. 

    The awards were conferred during a ceremony held at the Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra in Guwahati. Governor Gulab Chand Kataria presented the winners with their awards. As the main guest, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar was also in attendance.
     
    The award was given to two more individuals in addition to Elvis Ali Hazarika and Hima Das for their contributions to the sports sector. Dr. Kishan Chand Nauriyal, an archaeologist, and Nadiram Deuri, a Tiwa dance expert, are the two archaeologists for art and culture. 

     The Assam government's civilian honors are presented in the same manner as the highest civilian honors awarded by the Indian government, the Bharat Ratna and Padma honors. 
    The highest civilian award in the state, the Assam Baibhab, was previously awarded to Ranjan Gogoi, the former Chief Justice of India. 

    Meanwhile, 17 individuals received the Assam Gaurav, the state's third-highest civilian award.
