Fishing at the beels that straddle Kaziranga National Park and other local water bodies has been banned ahead of Magh Bihu, according to the information that has been obtained.

According to sources, all regions falling under the Burhapahar forest range, as well as Potali Beel, Deusur, Ghorakati, Tunikati, and Deupani, will be subject to the requirements of Section 144.
The authorities have stated that the action was necessary with conservation at the top of the priority list, even though it will make it more difficult for individuals to observe Uruka customs.
Activities related to fishing will not be permitted in the aforementioned regions. The sub-divisional magistrate's office in Kaliabor issued the directives.
