Flybig will begin operations on the Guwahati-Silchar-Guwahati route on May 15th...
Digital Desk: Flybig on Monday commenced the pathway on the Guwahati-Dibrugarh-Guwahati route with the introduction of the Assam government's viability gap funding prospect.
In a press conference following the flag-off, Baruah stated that it is the first non-UDAN route on which flight service has been launched by the Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC), with the Assam government providing the viability gap funding.
"Flybig will begin operations on the Guwahati-Silchar-Guwahati route on May 15th, following this route." We also intend to launch the Guwahati-Jorhat-Guwahati line later this year," he said.
According to Baruah, routes with tourism potential are being pursued to strengthen the local economy. The scheme's ticket price has been set at Rs 4,500 per ticket, with the state government covering the viability gap, he continued.
In March, the ATDC signed an agreement with Big Charter Private Limited (flybig) on behalf of the state government to commence daily air services in the non-UDAAN segment of the Guwahati-Dibrugarh-Guwahati and Guwahati-Silchar-Guwahati routes.
