Digital Desk: The Assam government, led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma gave Rs 25,000 to each of the 4,841 schools that received A+ grades during this year's Gunotsav on Sunday.
"Gunotsav" is a state government effort that primarily focuses on the evaluation of children's learning outcomes in order to detect learning gaps and then devise corrective methods for improvement.
Sarma gave out checks to the schools in Gunotsav's A+ category during a ceremony at the Veterinary College playground in Guwahati's Khanapara.
The Assam Chief Minister also presented first, second, and third-place trophies to the districts having the most A+ grade schools.
Himanta Biswa Sarma stated, "I am confident that our modest endeavour to grade schools will improve the educational environment in Assam."
Ranoj Pegu, the minister of education for Assam, stated that the state's first Gunotsav took place in 2017.
"We were unable to conduct the Gunotsav due to the COVID pandemic, but we did it in 2022. In 2023, we'll host the fourth Gunotsav round. Today, the Assam government gave each of the 4841 schools that received A+ marks an award and Rs 25,000.
The ceremony also saw the presentation of the Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, according to the state's education minister.
