Digital Desk: In an effort to curb cheating and unfair practices during the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE), Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced several new measures, including the introduction of helpline numbers specifically for invigilators.
The initiative aims to streamline the process of reporting and addressing misconduct during the examination. "If invigilators detect any instances of cheating, they can immediately report it to us through the designated helpline number," Sarma said on Saturday.
In addition to the helpline, the Chief Minister revealed that stringent actions will be taken against individuals who violate exam regulations. The government is considering the introduction of a new law in the Assam Assembly, under which those found guilty of breaking exam rules could face arrest and even property confiscation. The specifics of this clause will be made public in the coming days.
Sarma also announced that district commissioners have been summoned for a meeting to discuss preparations for the ADRE, which will commence on 15 September. He emphasized that this year’s turnout of 11 lakh candidates marks a significant increase from the previous year, prompting an expansion in both the number of candidates and exam centers.
"We are gearing up to ensure a smooth and orderly examination process," Sarma said during a live social media update.
This comprehensive strategy is expected to enhance fairness and maintain the integrity of the recruitment process.
