Digital Desk: Assam's Minister Pijush Hazarika declared during a massive Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rally in Kalingduar that the state government will extend financial aid of Rs 1.10 lakh to all Self Help Groups (SHGs). The announcement was met with cheers from the enthusiastic crowd gathered at the No. 48 Tongla assembly constituency.

Addressing the rally, Minister Hazarika asserted that the BJP's organizational strength in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) has grown substantially, attributing it to increased public support for the party. He claimed that a remarkable 7,000 to 8,000 people present at the rally expressed their admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, and the BJP.

Hazarika assured the audience that the government is committed to addressing unemployment concerns, promising that 35,000 unemployed youth would receive more government jobs than initially pledged. He emphasized that under the BJP-led government, job opportunities would extend beyond just meritorious villages and towns, ensuring a more inclusive approach.

The Orunodoi scheme, a flagship initiative in Assam, will see an increase in benefits, with millions of scheme holders promised a raise to Rs 1450. Minister Hazarika also affirmed Chief Minister Sarma's commitment to include an additional 6 lakh women under the scheme.

Highlighting the government's achievements, Minister Hazarika pointed out that the BJP administration has delivered on promises, providing free rice to 70 lakh families and refunding approximately Rs 2,100 crore to banks for women's microfinance loan waivers. He also highlighted the substantial growth in medical education, with the number of medical colleges in Assam increasing from six to twelve during the BJP regime.

The Minister further announced ongoing efforts to establish 12 more medical colleges, creating an environment for producing 3,000 doctors annually in the state. The introduction of the Minimum Support Price (MSP) system in Assam was credited to Chief Minister Sarma, ensuring fair compensation for paddy crops.

In a bid to combat flooding, the government earmarked Rs 18 crore for floodwater control in the Bodoland Territorial Region. Minister Hazarika assured the crowd that an annual provision of Rs 120 crore would be allocated for flood control. Additionally, the BJP government has undertaken the construction of 11,000 kilometers of embankment roads in the last two years.

The Minister concluded by recalling the BTR agreement initiated under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, promising a collective effort to build an all-round BTR. As a gesture of support to women's self-help groups, Minister Hazarika announced a financial grant of Rs 1,10,000 for each group, aiming to empower and uplift these grassroots organizations.

In closing, Minister Pijush Hazarika urged the citizens to vote for the BJP in the upcoming elections, asserting that doing so would contribute to the realization of Chief Minister Sarma's vision to propel Assam among the top five states in the country.
