• Assam: Garchuk police apprehends two along with 13 bags of explosives

    Guwahati: Keeping their eagle eye hooked to movement of any suspected person or illegal activities in the state, the Assam police has once again intercepted a group of people and recovered explosives from their possession from Guwahati’s Lakhra Chari Ali area.

    Today morning at around 5:30 am, a patrol  party from Gorchuk PS intercepted a Mahindra Bolero bearing registration number AS-15-AC-4867, travelling at high speed from Lakhra Chari Ali towards Boragaon . The patrol party chased and managed to stop the vehicle at Garchuk Chari Ali .

    On searching the vehicle they found 13 bags of explosives, explosive substances and devices without any documents (Gelatin Sticks 4660 Pcs and Electric Detonators 2300 PCs )

    The driver and another occupant of the vehicle were apprehended and brought to the PS along with the vehicle and bags of explosives.

    The names of the apprehended persons are as follows:

    1. Ainal Ali, age 27.

    S/O lt. Hasen Ali.

    Vill: Ganabinna,

    PS: Abhayapuri.

    Bongaigaon.

    2. Rahim Badsha. Age 26.

    S/O Md. Jakir Hussain.

    Vill: Ganabinna,

    PS: Abhayapuri,

    Bongaigaon.

    The apprehended persons were supposedly travelling from Meghalaya and headed towards Rani. An investigation has been initiated in the case. The explosives and other substances recovered from the assailants, have been sent to the forensic to determine their contents.

    Meanwhile, Assam Police are on their toes, increasing their checks across the state, to avoid any inevitable situation during the festivities.
