    Assam: Key Decisions Taken in Today's Cabinet Meeting

    Guwahati: On Wednesday the Assam government held their cabinet meeting chaired by Assam CM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, where several key decisions were taken during the meeting.





    MLA Padma Hazarika has been given the Cabinet rank for effectively carrying out the responsibilities given to the committee headed by him which includes utilizing 77,000 bighas of land in Gorukhuti, Sipajhar for agricultural purposes.





    Moreover, Ministers Chandra Mohan Patowary, Atul Bora and Dr Ranoj Pegu have been entrusted with the responsibility to ensure implementation of cabinet decisions and inform the cabinet about the implementation status.





    The cabinet instructed the Information Technology Department to set up mobile towers wherever required in the state for easy internet access for the purpose to benefit the online education of the children.





    Aiming to give some relief to the police force, the cabinet has decided to give one-month compulsory leave to the armed battalion personnel from constable till Sub-Inspector rank to visit their home. However, those living with their family in quarters get only leave of 10 days.





    For the first time, the commission of Fair Price Shops for transportation of commodities will be increased from Rs 100.10 per quintal to Rs 143 per quintal. Moreover, 860 cooperative societies in the state will receive a fixed amount of Rs 5 lakh per year for using godowns, transportation of commodities and other sources. Transportation contracts for carrying commodities from FCI godown etc will be given to cooperatives.
