Digital Desk: Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), a partner in the northeastern state's coalition government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), noted the reelection of its president and working president on Sunday. Assam cabinet ministers Atul Bora and Keshab Mahanta were also re-elected.

Bora conveyed appreciation to party employees while highlighting the necessity of modernizing the local party to keep up with the trends.
He emphasised how crucial the upcoming Lok Sabha election and the panchayat elections that follow will be for growing the party's support base.
In a post on X, Mahanta expressed gratitude for being a part of the AGP and using it to further the interests of the state.
"With the blessings and cooperation of all, we will strive to take the party forward with new aspirations and promises," the president at work stated.
Congratulating Bora and Mahanta on being elected for a third term, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote on X, "I am confident that under the new leadership team of the AGP, a valued partner of the National Democratic Alliance, the party will continue to play a key role in realising Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji's vision of a Viksit Assam."
