Digital Desk: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President Bhupen Borah made a stinging attack against the state's incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government by asserting that Assam is a "trouble engine" government rather than a "double engine."
The state government's promised growth and development have not materialised in Assam, Bhupen Borah said.
He drew attention to the discrepancy between the government's boasts of creating millions of jobs and the reality of the paucity of employment prospects. Bora requested responsibility, requesting an explanation for the broken promises and the location of the purported 22 lakh jobs.

He emphasised the significant increase in borrowing, which went from a startling Rs 2,757 crore in 2012–13 to an astounding Rs 17,149 crore in 2021–22, with intentions to take out a further Rs 25,000 crore loan.
Bora voiced alarm over the government's intended plan to borrow Rs 50,000 crore the next year and accused it of inflating the GDP artificially to obtain loans.
