Digital Desk: Assam Cabinet Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah on Sunday took a jibe at Assam Pradesh Congress president Bhupen Borah and made fun of his unusual celebration strategy.

Mallabaruah claimed on Facebook that Borah had surreptitiously stored firecrackers in a toilet tank at Rajiv Bhawan for a supposed victory celebration. He added a note of irony when he said that two Bihu dance teams that were supposed to perform as a celebration were now stuck trying to earn respect in the Congress headquarters.

Election trends show that the BJP is leading significantly in several states, including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh. In Telangana, however, where it is leading against Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's BRS, the Congress finds comfort.

The BJP has comfortably passed the halfway point in Madhya Pradesh, leading in 145 seats, while the Congress is trailing with leads in 82 constituencies. The BJP is hoping for a change in leadership, and Rajasthan seems to be continuing the state's tradition of having a "revolving door." Once a close race, Chhattisgarh is witnessing the BJP gradually overtaking the incumbent Congress.

The results of the Mizoram elections will be announced on December 4 in honor of the Christian-majority state's Sunday observance. The country is anxiously awaiting the results.
