Each and every mandal of Assam will have one BJP office: Himanta Biswa Sarma

Guwahati: In an attempt to strengthen the organisational structure of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Thursday that the party is aiming to construct its offices in every mandal across the state of Assam.

Even having its presence in the state fro several decades, the BJP did not consider having its offices constructed at the local level from the organisational point of view.

The announcement was made by CM Sarma today after a meeting with the office-bearers.

"BJP came into prominence in the last two decades and it marched at a rapid pace from 2014 onwards. The party did not focus on having its offices at the district level initially, but today we are targeting to have our offices in every district headquarters," CM Sarma added.

"Now we want to go to the mandal level. Our next target is to have party offices in each mandal of Assam. For that, we will need finances and we hope that people will contribute generously," the chief minister said.

During the new party opening in Bongaigaon yesterday, CM Sarma announced a lifetime contributory fund of Rs 50 per person for its party well-wishers, starting from January next year.
