Digital Desk: Former Chief Justice of India and Rajya Sabha member Ranjan Gogoi presented a book titled 'Chief Minister's Diary No.1' on Thursday, documenting the happenings of Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma's first year in office.
Speaking on the occasion, Assam Chief Minister stated that the book covered descriptions of daily activities he conducted as Chief Minister without bringing his personal life into the spotlight.
He described himself as a fortunate Chief Minister because he did not have to deal with situations such as the 1950 earthquake, the Indo-China War, or the Assam agitation, and as a result, he was able to focus on developmental efforts. His diary mostly focused on the state's growth initiatives throughout the previous 11 months.
He stated that he enumerated his day-to-day development operations as the state's Chief Minister without compromising the integrity of the oath of office he took when entering the office of Chief Minister.
He also stated that he would release future volumes of his journal over the next four years. CM Sharma also praised former Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi for launching the book.
Speaking on the event, former Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi stated that he has known Dr. Sarma for many years. Referring to his interactions with him from his days as a lawyer, Justice Gogoi stated that Dr. Sarma quit the law and entered politics. As a result, the legal profession has lost a skilled attorney. Politics, on the other hand, has won.
