Digital Desk: One more person has been detained in connection with the paper leak incident for the General Science subject of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination.

The Dispur Police have detained the person identified as Chitra Roy. He has been handed over to the Crime Investigation Department (CID), Assam, for further questioning.

With this arrest, a total of four people have been detained in relation to the investigation.

The CID had already detained three people for interrogation earlier on Monday. Jyotirekha Borgohain, Herambo Kumar Das, and Bindeshwar Tumung are the people who have been arrested. Two of the suspects are teachers, and one is a driver.

The CID also summoned Examination Controller Nayan Jyoti Sarma of the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA), and Chief Controller Jimli Kakoty Saikia.

SEBA reportedly chose to cancel the General Science exam at the last moment on Sunday after the question paper was allegedly leaked on social media. Previously, the HSLC English exam had been canceled. The English exam has been canceled in one of the Cachar district centers, according to a notice given by SEBA.

The cancelled HSLC General Science examination will now be conducted on March 30 from 9 a.m. onward in all centers of the state. On the other hand, the English examination that was cancelled at JR Higher Secondary School in Ganirgram in the Cachar district will take place on March 28.
