    Digital Desk: A G20 delegation reached Assam on Wednesday morning and toured the renowned Kaziranga National Park. When the delegation arrived in the park, they were greeted warmly.

    The delegates went on a Jeep safari in the World Heritage Site's Bagori and Kohora Range. Before the Jeep Safari, the participants visited the Kaziranga Convention Centre in Kohora, where they were informed about the numerous wildlife-friendly programmes and activities performed by the Kaziranga National Park administration for wildlife protection.

    India for the first time is hosting the G20 summit after gaining the presidency from Indonesia on December 1, 2022, with the theme of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" which stands for "One Earth One Family One Future".

    From December 1, 2022, until November 30, 2023, India will preside over the G20. The Group of 20 (G20) is one of the world's most important platforms for international economic cooperation.

    Following the Asian financial crisis, the G20 was established in 1999 as a forum for Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors to discuss global economic and financial concerns.  

    The G20, or Group of 20, consists of 19 countries and the European Union. Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America are among the 19 countries represented.

    The G20 meeting this year will be attended by nine guest countries as well as invited International Organizations. Five discussions will be place in Guwahati and Dibrugarh as part of the current G20 summit.

    It will be held in Guwahati on February 2 and 3, 2023, as well as from February 6 to 8, 2023, March 13 to 15, 2023, April 3 to 5, 2023, and in Dibrugarh from March 24 to 25, 2023.
