    HSLC paper leak case updates: 2 teachers were remanded to judicial custody

    Digital Desk: Two teachers have been remanded to judicial custody for their involvement in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) paper leak case.


    On Monday, the two teachers, Jyotirekha Borgohain and Herambo Kumar Das produced before the court.


    The two teachers worked at Bhauri Devi Sarawgi High School. Jyotirekha Borgohain was the school's Controller of Examinations. Herambo Kumar Das was the former Assistant Controller of Examinations.


    Previously, a Guwahati court had remanded the duo in the HSLC paper leak case to the custody of the CID police.


    Meanwhile, the three teachers from Lakhimpur who were arrested for their participation in the HSLC question paper leak case were sent to the Crime Investigation Department (CBI) for 10-day custody. 


    On Saturday, the three arrested teachers, Kumud Rajkhowa, Pranab Dutta, and Prasanna Das, presented before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court.


    Earlier on Monday, the Controller of Examinations of the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA), Nayan Jyoti Sarma arrived at the Crime Investigation Department (CID) headquarters in Guwahati.


    The CID summoned Sarma for questioning in connection with the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) question paper leak case. The CID has also called two others in addition to Sarma. They have been identified as Kushal Das, a clerk, and the other as a security guard.


    CID officials are presently questioning the three SEBA employees.
