Four people, including a father, were killed in a road accident in Tinsukia on the day of their
Nagaon: The unabated crackdown on drug menace in the state of Assam continues as in yet another successful operation, Assam Police’s Raha police force along with the Anti Narcotic Squad of Nagaon police nabbed four drug peddlers at Chaparmukh railway station. The police force recovered 120 gms of heroin worth Rs 85 lakhs from their possession on Wednesday.
The team launched a search operation following inputs from an insider at the station at 3 am today and arrested the drug peddlers along with the huge cache.
The drug peddlers have been identified as Ainul Haque, Sitara Begum of Bheri village under Bordua PS, Rosidul Haque of Dhonia Bheti village, Bordua PS, and Wadiqul Islam of Long Jup Podumoni village under Kachua PS, Nagaon.
The heroin were found packed in ten soap cases all weighing 120 gms in total, kept hidden underneath the clothes of Sitara Begum. The kingpin of the group was Ainul Haque. All the accused had arrived in Raha from Dimapur by Ledo Express.
Assam police conducted an operation against illegal drugs in various places of Margherita and Jagun of Tinsukia district. This operation turned out to be a successful drive into ending illicit drugs sales and consumption.
Under the leadership of the Deputy Superintendent of Police and staff from SB HQRs, the operation took place on Monday. Hemanto KR Boro, APS, and his party arrested the accused.
The team was successful in seizing a large number of illegal drugs from the possession of the accused. As per sources, police recovered approx 45 grams of heroin from Diamond Baruah, S/O Lt. Vijendra Baruah of Makum Pather, Margherita PS, Tinsukia District.
