Digital Desk: On Monday, the India Meteorology Department (IMD) predicted that Assam, along with other northeastern states, would see light to moderate rainfall on November 17.
The Regional Meteorology Centre in Guwahati issued a yellow notice for the northeastern states, excluding Arunachal Pradesh, in this respect.
It further claimed that rain is expected to fall in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on November 16 and 17, while rain is expected to fall in Assam and Meghalaya on November 17.
The Regional Meteorology Centre stated, "An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over the south Andaman Sea and extends up to middle-tropospheric levels, tilting southwestwards with height. A Low-Pressure Area is expected to form over the Southeast Bay of Bengal over the next 24 hours as a result of its effect. It is expected to move west-northwestward and strengthen into a Depression over the West Central Bay of Bengal by November 16th, 2023."

Due to heavy rains, visibility may deteriorate, causing traffic congestion.
Temporary traffic disruption caused by waterlogging of highways, resulting in increased travel time
Occasional visibility decreases due to heavy rain Landslides/landslips are possible as a result of heavy rainfall.
Damage to vulnerable structures is a possibility.
