Indrani Tahbildar death case: Police summon two BJP executive members
It should be noted that the presence of both Sanjiv Sharma and Kapil Talukdar was sought by the investigating team on Sunday.

Digital Desk: On Monday, two executive-level members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of Assam appeared at the Chandmari Police Station in Guwahati after being instructed to appear before the police in connection with the death of Indrani Tahbildar.

Initial reports state that Sanjiv Sharma and Kapil Talukdar showed up at the Chandmari Police Station, where the husband of the late BJP Kisan Morcha Secretary Indrani Tahbildar had made an FIR.

In the meantime, it has come to light that Diban Deka, another suspect in the case, shared an objectionable photo of Indrani Tahbildar with Kapil Talukdar on August 16, which ultimately drove her to make the extreme decision to commit suicide.

According to the information we have, the police seized Diban Deka's mobile.

Officials stated that the investigation is going well and that all BJP members who had received the offensive photos would be included in the scope of the inquiry.

It should be noted that the presence of both Sanjiv Sharma and Kapil Talukdar was sought by the investigating team on Sunday.

In the meanwhile, Diban Deka, an Assamese member of the BJP Kisan Morcha, was given a seven-day police remand on Saturday.

The same custody time applies to Deka, Rekhanta Das, and Aseem Chakraborty, who are also connected to the case. This extra time in custody has been requested by the Chandmari police to further their ongoing inquiry.

A crucial suspect, Diban Deka, surrendered to the Chandmari Police Station after being implicated in the release of Indrani Tahbildar's personal photos. These pictures are said to have something to do with her untimely passing. Initial research indicates that Deka may have eluded capture as the case gained notoriety.

The discovery of an audio exchange between Diban Deka and Indrani has complicated the situation. Deka is accused of making public both this tape and another chat between Indrani and a person by the name of Riya. Deka's involvement in the high-profile SI exam scam that shook Assam in 2020 is also shown by new disclosures.

On August 11 in Guwahati, Indrani Tahbildar, a prominent member of the BJP Kisan Morcha in Assam, passed away. Initial reports suggested that suicide was the cause.
