Digital Desk: Deceased cop Junmoni Rabha's family members termed her death "mysterious" and demanded a high-level investigation into the unfortunate turn of events that happened on Monday night.

Rabha, an Assam Police Sub-Inspector (SI), died in a road accident at Kaliabor in Assam's Nagaon district.

The deceased elder brother, Karuna Rabha, claims that on Monday night, Junmoni went out with a fellow SI, Aabha Rabha. Later, when Aabha was questioned, she replied that she didn't go with Junmoni where she was going.

Junmoni's brother also stated that Nagaon Superintendent of Police (SP) Leena Doley called on the now deceased cop on Monday night at 2 a.m., raising doubts about why she was summoned so late at night.

The accident happened on Monday night on National Highway 37 close to Sarubhagia village when the vehicle in which Rabha was travelling in collided with an oncoming container truck with the registration number "UP 78UT 4518."

Reportedly, the vehicle was entirely crushed in the accident due to the tremendous impact. Local police rushed to the spot and sent the SI to Kaliabor Sub-Divisional Civil Hospital for medical treatment, but doctors declared her dead on arrival.

As per reports, Rabha was driving towards Upper Assam in civil clothes at around 2 a.m. when the accident happened. Sources claimed that her body had been sent to Nagaon for a post-mortem.

Junmoni Rabha was a SI at Nagaon's Morakolong police station who made headlines last year for several controversies she was involved in, including corruption, criminal conspiracy, and cheating, for which she was subsequently arrested. A session court later granted her bail.
