    Karbi Anglong: Youth puts foot over Lord Ganesh's idol, committee to file complaint

    Karbi Anglong: In a series of instances of desecration of Hindu deities, with the latest being the violent incident in Bangladesh during the Durga Puja festivities, another incident has been reported at West Karbi Anglong district of Assam on Friday.





    The accused, identified as Abbas Khan, was reportedly seen posing in a few objectionable photos at a religious place in Tengalangso in the West Karbi Anglong, where the locals offer prayers to Lord Ganesh. They even constructed a temple dedicated to the deity.   





    In the uploaded photo on social media, the accused can be seen keeping one of his legs on the head of Lord Ganesh's stone idol.

    Reacting to the insult to the Hindu deity, the temple committee has decided to lodge a case against the accused at Baithalangso police station.





    One of the Temple committee members stated, "This act of hurting the sentiments of Hindus cannot be tolerated and will take legal action against him."





    Earlier, on Thursday night, the Bangladesh police arrested the prime accused of Durga Puja violence from Cox's Bazar. As per the police report, the accused, identified as Ikbal Hossain, placed a copy of the Quran at a Durga pandal in Comilla.
