Digital Desk: The Eastern Assam Wildlife Division's Divisional Forest Officer has declared that starting from May 31, 2024, Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—will remain close to visitors. This decision marks the conclusion of the tourist season 2023-24.

Earlier, it was notified that starting on May 1 and continuing through May 16, respectively, Elephant and Jeep Safaris for tourists in Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve will not be operating during the 2023–24 tourist season. This was done with tourist safety in consideration due to bad weather and difficult driving conditions inside the National Park.

However, in a recent notification, the Divisional Forest Officer has extended the Jeep Safari in Kaziranga National Park & Tiger Reserve up to May 31, 2024, providing tourists with additional opportunities to explore the park's natural beauty and wildlife. It is important to note that the Elephant Safari is already closed for the current tourist season.
