    Digital Desk: Assam police officer Leena Doley, who is surrounded by controversies, took over charge of Superintendent of Police for the Hailakandi district on Wednesday.

    In the presence of Additional Superintendent of Police Bidyut Das, Doley took over the reins.

    Doley was originally appointed to Nagaon as Superintendent of Police, but the Home department transferred her while the investigation into the high-profile death case involving the accidental death of Morikolong sub-inspector Junmoni Rabha was going on.

    On the other side, Nabaneet Mahanta, the superintendent of police in Hailakandi, was moved and assigned to be the superintendent of police in Nagaon.

    In a previous press conference, Assam's director general of police, GP Singh, announced that the state police had decided to transfer all of its officers to protect the public's perception and allow the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to conduct a fair investigation into SI Junmoni Rabha's suspicious death following discussions with the state's chief minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma.
