Love Jihad Controversy: Bhupen Borah seeks apology, says 'saw Grandfather in my dreams'

Bhupen Bora responds to the love jihad controversy surrounding Krishna Rukmini's marriage, saying...

Digital Desk: Recently, the Golaghat Triple Murder case has sent a shock to the people of the nation, amidst that Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President Bhupen Borah asserted that Lord Krishna's marriage to Rukmini could also be seen as an instance of "love-jihad," drawing attention to the controversial term often used by right-wing politicians alleging forced conversions through seduction by Muslim men.

To which Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma responded saying, if a FIR is filed against him for his controversial comment against Lord Krishna, APCC President Bhupen Borah would be detained soon.

The current debate between the Chief Minister and Bhupen Borah heated up when the latter replied to CM Sarma's "love-jihad" remarks about the Golaghat triple murder case.

However, in a fresh development, Bhupen Borah said that In a dream, "My grandfather appeared to me at night and told me that I made a mistake." Borah's grandfather also claimed in his dream that he uttered two inappropriate things during his two years of work.

Borah's grandfather (Koka) asks that he go to Namghar to seek forgiveness for stating those two illogical things.

Over the CM's comments, Borah explained that he doesn't fear CM Sarma, but he does fear Vaishnava Priest.

Bhupen Bora, President of the APCC, apologises for the blunder he made

Borah also stated, that in the middle of this, the Chief Minister also stated that I may be arrested.

Borah further added that it hurts even more when a satradhikar (the head of the satra) allows me to stop entering Namghar. Don't stop me from going to Namghar; rather than encounter me, said Borah.

I'm building a namghar in my birth village, said the APCC Prez.

Although politics is not my final goal, after retiring, one of the criteria with the people of the village is that I become a devotee in Naamghar (a site of worshipping God).

Nonetheless, I don't own a news station or a newspaper, and I can't manipulate the news. My own conscience has awakened me, added Borah.

Bhupen Bora expresses his regret by reading the Namgosha.

The rest of the BJP-RSS will continue to press the issue, but Bhupen Bora advises non-political individuals to stay away from it.
