Digital Desk: MLA Akhil Gogoi of Raijor Dol addressed a press conference on the re-determination of the constituency at Sivsagar.
Akhil Gogoi at the Press conference stated that the Problems will arise eventually as a result of the constituency rescheduling.
Reportedly, it's also said that Upper Assam's three assembly constituencies Dibrugarh District, Sivasagar and Golaghat are expected to be severed.
Akhil further stated, "I'm not sure how the administration would preserve ethnic people by removing Upper constituencies and how reducing the higher constituencies, Khilonjiya ( indigenous people of Assam) is not safe?"
He also said that "the choice to sever ties with the Amguri constituency would never be accepted. The government should take action to prevent constituency removal in the districts of Sivasagar, Golaghat, and Dibrugarh." Gogoi stated this at a press conference.
He added " first an all-party meeting should be called by the ruling party, and the Election Commission should be asked not to reduce the number of constituencies if necessary. Second, a special session of the Assam Legislative Assembly should be called to examine the constituency's exclusion."
Akhil Gogoi also raised the question if it's necessary to abandon the choice to reduce the constituency by growing the population.
He also demanded to Tribalize the six tribes to protect the Assamese indigenous people's political and social rights.
