Digital Desk: The state of Manipur is in disarray after fresh gunfire erupted in Churachandpur on July 7, killing two local volunteers and injuring three more. An exchange of fire is apparently taking place, adding to the increasing tensions. The shooting incident occurred at 4:30 a.m., heightening concerns about the region's security situation.
At this time, the specific cause of the firing and the individuals engaged are unknown. The exchange of fire, which began early in the morning, has caused widespread dissatisfaction.
Bunkers in the Kangpokpi, Imphal West, and Churachandpur districts were to be demolished as part of an operation that was started on July 6 by the Manipur police and national security forces.
In the course of this combined action to uphold law and order, four bunkers were destroyed. Additionally, efforts have been made by neighbouring districts to demolish neighbouring structures that are comparable to them.

Most districts have reported normalcy, even though the situation is still tense in several places due to random shooting events and the assembly of disorderly mobs throughout the previous 24 hours. State police and central forces have conducted search operations in susceptible areas of both hill and valley districts in response to these difficulties.
In the past 24 hours, there have been frequent gunfights between anonymous criminals close to Khoijumantabi, notably in the hills above Langza village.
However, the armed criminals were successfully repelled by law enforcement when they quickly initiated an operation in the region. Additionally, a riotous mob of between 3,500 and 4,000 people attacked the Heirok Police Station and looted the exhibits, as well as taking weapons and ammunition.
