    A major cause for concern for the state of Mizoram is the ongoing smuggling of illegal drugs and contraband.

    Digital Desk: Assam Rifles soldiers working under the direction of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) recently made another significant discovery when they invaded Mizoram and seized a huge consignment of illegal drugs worth more than Rs 29 crore.
    In the Champhai area of Mizoram, security personnel detained a person from Myanmar and seized 9.864 kg of illegal Crystal Methamphetamine.

    It is estimated that the retrieved medications cost 29.592 crore rupees in total.

    A joint team from the Assam Rifles, Excise, and Narcotics Department, Champhai, made the seizure based on information received from the intelligence community.

    After being recovered, the shipment and the person who had been detained were given to the Excise and Narcotics Department for additional legal action.

    Early on Wednesday, in the Champhai district of Mizoram, another citizen of Myanmar was found in possession of heroin valued at more than Rs 5 crore.

    The Myanmar national's possession of 1.117 kg of heroin was seized by security personnel.

    The arrested individual has been identified as Ginsuanlang (34). In the Champhai district, he was captured near the Hnahlan village.
